Another week of inspiring finds. I have a deep appreciation for people who are creative in any discipline…not just great clothing designers.

Here’s what I found this week.

Blue Trees?

According to the artist, this color blue is called “Ultramarine Blue”…which is similar to the shade of blue used in the movie Avatar. He used an environmentally safe water based paint that will rinse off over time.

Embroidery Floss Necklace

I would love to try one of these embroidery floss necklaces. Fun summer project!

Christine Sun Kim makes some interesting art. I like the idea of sound being visual. I think I like the idea of most things being visual.

Preen SS 2012

Some Preen behind the scenes and runway video. I love the colors used in this collection. Some of the prints remind me of the label “Breezin” from the 80’s.

Well, we made it through the Facebook change, a little hard to get used to but I think we will be ok:) I just finished putting together Out of Line’s first lookbook, and should have a digital copy up on the website next week. Lot’s of new ideas for Fall are being explored- thinking layers, layers, layers.

Brenna Egan

Have you been to Closet Visit? This site is awesome, interviews with some truly interesting girls and a peek into their closets. The photos are lovely and the interviews are fun. This latest is with Brenna Egan the new editor of Refinery 29 Los Angeles.

Wacky Bedrooms

Yep, wacky bedrooms. I love the Garden Shed, and the Mattress gone mad. I would never make it through the night in the underwater one, way too much for me (slight fear of deep water). TV on the ceiling, and nest bed? What’s your favorite?

Grace Coddington’s Memoir

This looks great. Grace Coddington spent 55 years in the fashion industry from model to editor. She has amazing vision that shines through in her Vogue editorials. Here is an example of her take on Hansel and Gretel.

Narciso Rodriquez

I’ve really been drawn to the last few collections of Narciso Rodriquez. This one is no exception, I love all the layering and the textures. The shapes feel new and interesting, beautiful!

Studio Snapshots

Rolls of fabric to continue on with Spring/Summer, and new roll of pattern paper soooo heavy. It will be rolled wherever it has to go, no lifting.

Another week flew by. My desk-that basket is filled with thoughts on Fall/Winter 2012. Sketches, magazine tears, bits of fabrics, a few pattern pieces. Can’t wait to start putting it all together! Also I’ve had a thing for peanut butter lately.

It’s hard to believe that this exists, the detail is crazy. Check out the video, I don’t understand what the guy is saying most all of the time, but I could not turn away. Apartment Therapy has a post about it titled: The Largest Model Railway in the World.

Another thing I found on Apartment Therapy:

I don’t like the idea of people putting a lot of additives and chemicals into my food. I like the idea of whole foods and buy organic when I can. I can’t see how this could be safe, but it looks pretty cool.

Just a lovely editorial to enjoy. I’ve been wanting to try out large brush strokes on fabric- inspired!

I’ve been having my blog, site and Facebook page completely redesigned the past couple of weeks. Hope you like the new layout!

I’m a book lover. I’m one of those people with books everywhere- on my bookshelves, stacked on tabletops, my nightstand, coffee table, you get the idea. One of the first questions I asked my boyfriend years ago when seeing his apartment for the first time, “Where are all your books?” Turns out he likes e-books. Anyway these reading corners look pretty sweet, I think you could even enjoy one with a Kindle.

While I can appreciate the ruggedness of REI gear, so popular here in Seattle, these tents are pretty spectacular. Especially for those of us that have found the beauty in backyard, event , and car camping. These are made by a UK based company called FieldCandy.
